The Values (part 2)
Last week I posted the first 5 values. Here are the other 5 values that are highlighted in the Our Family Values game:
We Live OUTSIDE OUR COMFORT ZONE
Our faith in God challenges us to live outside of our comfort zone. As we obey God and depend on His Spirit we will live with conviction, serve with passion, love with abandon, and point others to hope in Christ.
We Are LEADERS
We put our faith in action by standing up for what’s right, taking initiative to serve, striving to do the right thing and not conforming to the patterns of this world. We seek to change the world through God’s power.
We Accept ACCOUNTABILITY
We accept accountability and discipline from those we trust. Sometimes we get off track, but God offers a path of healing. We grow, learn and love each other through mistakes.
We Take RESPONSIBILITY
We take responsibility for our actions. God has entrusted us with the things and people around us. We take initiative in our friendships, chores, schoolwork, work, and personal health. Acting responsibly will increase our influence and build trust with others.
We LOVE & RESPECT Others
We show love and respect to others when we control our tongue, no matter how we feel about them. We don’t judge other people’s motives, unless it personally affects us. We strive to be honest, reliable and trustworthy. We don’t steal or cheat, because this brings dishonor on us and disrespect to our victim. We demonstrate love and respect through our attitude and language, because it reflects the love that God has for them.
